What I collect, why I collect it, who else touches it, and how to have it deleted. In plain English, like everything else here.

The short version: I collect what you type into my forms so I can reply to you. I don't sell it, I don't share it for anyone else's advertising, and if you'd like it deleted you can email me and I'll delete it. That's genuinely the whole thing — the rest of this page is the detail.

Only what you choose to type into a form on this site. Depending on which form you use, that's:
I don't run analytics on this site. There's no Google Analytics, no advertising pixel, and no tracking cookie following you around. I don't know who you are until you tell me.
To reply to you, and nothing else. If you request a free website review, I use your details to actually do the review and email it back. If you use the contact or estimate form, I use them to answer you and quote the work. If you asked me to email you your report, I email you your report.
I don't sell your information. I don't hand it to data brokers, and I don't share it so somebody else can advertise to you.
Running a website means a few other companies necessarily touch some of this. Here's the full list and what each one does:

This site is protected by reCAPTCHA, and Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply to that. Google Fonts and reCAPTCHA both mean Google can see your IP address when a page loads — that's true of a very large share of the web, but you should know it rather than not.
If you ask for a free website review, I'll email you the review. That's the thing you asked for, so it isn't marketing.
If you ticked the box to hear from me beyond that, you can stop it at any time — reply to any email and say so, or use the unsubscribe link. I'd rather you told me to stop than quietly ignored me.
Review requests and enquiries stay in my records while there's a reasonable chance we'll work together, and for client projects for as long as I'm keeping records of the work. If you'd like yours removed sooner, ask and I'll remove it.
You can ask me what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Email info@deepwaterwebsites.com and I'll handle it myself — there's no ticketing system, it's me.
Depending on where you live you may have additional rights under your state's privacy law. Ask, and I'll honour them regardless of whether the law obliges me to.
I don't set advertising or analytics cookies. Netlify and Google reCAPTCHA may set cookies necessary for the site and the spam check to function. There's no cookie banner because there's nothing to consent to beyond what makes the page work.
This site sells services to businesses and isn't aimed at children. I don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
If I change how any of this works, I'll update this page and change the date at the top. If it's a significant change and I have your email because you're a client, I'll tell you directly.
